Inspired

Last Sunday, which happened to be Mother's Day, had such a wonderful message at church. Pastor said something that really made me think. He said something to the nature of: if people only spent the time reading their Bible as they do on media (Facebook, etc.) their faith would be so much stronger. I totally agree with that. How is it I can dedicate hours to checking up on my emails & Facebook, yet never be inspired to read my Bible? I mean really read the Bible. I read the Bible every Sunday, but it's mainly the verses pertaining to the message . It's been a long time since I just sat down and leisurely read the scripture.
Well that just made me feel horrible. So I decided to download the Bible app for easy accessibility. I started picking up right where I left off, at the book of Joshua. & I can honestly tell you I am glued. Sometimes it takes just the right moment to really get inspired. Yes some of the books are a little boring.... Other then the wall of Jericho falling down, Joshua is a little boring. It's mainly about dividing up all the territories for the 12 tribes of Israel. But Ruth.... What a wonderful book. I could read it over and over again. I'm almost done with the first book of Samuel, and it is a wonderful story as well. You learn how King Saul started his reign. He was a bad king and defied God. That is when David came into the picture. My parents always used to say "David was the apple of God's eye". What an amazing documentary!
I pray that I will continue to find such great happiness reading the book of God. I look forward to the end of the night when I'm in bed and I can just sit and read and relish in all the things I'm learning all over again. It brings up memories of Sunday school and AWANA. It amazes me all the things that come flooding back. I have been praying for more ambition in my Christian life, and I truly feel this is an answer to prayer.
